RICH GET RICHER
It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the month of March. I was watching the movie TITANIC. Great Movie!! Don’t you agree? It definitely deserves the 14 oscars it won. Now this is not the first time I am watching the movie, I was watching it for the umpteenth time. But this time something strong struck to me about the movie. There was a scene in which the lower class are locked up from coming outside.
There is a small family, a mom and 2 kids.
KIDS : Mommy, Why are waiting here ?
Mom : The first class people are getting into the boats now. Once they are done, we will be let out. Don’t we need to be ready ?
(Kids nod their head)
And at the end, the family never gets a chance to go the life boats and the mom put the kids to sleep before the ship sinks.
Life? I was always taught by my mother “All lives are treated equal”. Apparently she has been lying to me. BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT. But I don’t blame the richer class, cause probably if I was there in the sinking ship and given an opportunity to save myself, I would have run for my life.
AFTERALL EVERYONE IS SCARED OF DEATH.
So Whom do we have to blame. The richer for being able to afford the first class price or the poor for not being able to afford the first class price? I definitely do not have a answer for this question. I did understand that I lived in a capitalist economy, not that I never knew this, but it hit upon hard on my face. The powers are vested on the wealthy people and they get more and more powerful and it has been rightly said “THE RICH GET RICHER.”
My question what do they do with all the money? Whats the point of saving it? Do they intend to take it with them to the grave? Does it not hit upon them to share the money with people around them esp the poor. I definitely don’t have a answer for these questions too.
Everyone around me says, if you need a change in the society, the change should happen within you. Dude, I definitely share my money with others, when I need some donation for a old age home, I ask my friends for it, they help me with that, they donate too. But it never made a difference. Ok now I know what you to say. It will happen but its going to take some time. HOW LONG? WHEN IS IT GOING TO HAPPEN?
I know all through the blog I have just complained. But trust I don’t have a solution, I just wanted to stir a few people’s thoughts. Let me know what you got in mind. What do we have to do to get this right and straight.
